While it’s been a little more than a year since we began our rate reform efforts, we are just getting started.
BWC and its Board of Directors are taking deliberate steps to implement comprehensive rate reform, guaranteeing fair and equitable workers’ compensation rates for all Ohio employers.
In 2009, we’ve:
Lowered our base rates an average of 12 percent from the previous year;
Introduced two new employer programs, group-retrospective rating and a deductible program;
Reduced premium costs by more than $139 million for more than half of Ohio’s private employers;
Evaluated and implemented recommendations from a comprehensive study conducted by Deloitte Consulting LLP. (House Bill 100).
We expect to make additional evaluations and improvements based on the comprehensive study, just as we expect to continue our comprehensive rate reform efforts.
